GPB Radio Explores Multicasting With Neural

Georgia Public Broadcasting has purchased NeuStar SW4.0 Codec Pre-Conditioning software for its statewide public radio network.

Neural Audio said Georgia Public Broadcasting has purchased NeuStar SW4.0 Codec Pre-Conditioning software for its statewide public radio network.

“The software will allow GPB Radio to broadcast an increased number of services and channels to its audience on its FM stations,” Neural said.

Mark Fehlig is GPB director of engineering. He stated in the Neural announcement that HD Radio lets the organization expand services to listeners and that NeuStar software lets GPB “conveniently multicast and offer our audience a broader choice of listening options.”

NeuStar SW4.0 Codec Pre-Conditioning allows broadcasters to process HD2, HD3 and HD4 channels or multiple Internet streams simultaneously without additional hardware.

GPB Radio operates 16 FM stations and seven FM translators.
