Grace Period on EEO Records

Grace Period on EEO Records

The commission is giving stations a break on when they should have EEO reports in public files and on their Web sites.
Those reports are to be placed in public files on April 1; however the commission is giving stations a 10-day grace period. Stations that place an EEO report in their public file by April 11 will comply with the deadline.
Two state broadcasters association asked for the delay, saying that stations may have trouble compiling the EEO records for the proceeding year before the license renewal filing anniversary. Stations that have five or more employees must comply with the record-keeping aspects of EEO; all stations must comply with the rest of the EEO rules.
