Greater Media Aims to Finish IBOC Conversions by Year-end

Greater Media says it hopes to complete its IBOC conversions at all 19 stations in 2005. It was the first group to allocate equipment purchase funds for IBOC for all of its stations.
All five Boston Greater Media stations are transmitting digital and analog signals now. They are WMJX, WROR, WBOS, WKLB and WTKK. In Philadelphia, WMWX and WPEN are on the air with a digital signal, with WMMR scheduled to go IBOC in early 2005.
In Detroit, WMGC has been broadcasting HD Radio for several years. WRIF is installing equipment for a conversion to HD Radio technology this month, and WCSX will follow. WDHA in New Jersey is the first of the seven Greater Media properties in that area to broadcast using IBOC, with the remaining stations to come on air within the year.
Greater Media hopes to complete its conversions by year-end.
