Group Seeks to Speak for Pro Audio Companies

Who speaks for pro audio manufacturers? Paul Gallo says no one does yet. So he is promoting the concept of the Professional Audio Manufacturers Alliance, a nonprofit group based in New York that will act as “the collective voice and forum for the senior executives of the more than 400 branded manufacturers of professional audio products.”
“AES speaks for the engineering community,” Gallo said in the announcement. “NSCA speaks for the systems contractors and installers. NAMM speaks for the retailers of musical merchandise. And NAB speaks for the broadcast community. The industry needs its own voice, and PAMA will be that voice.” It will not host trade shows, he said.
A spokesman said Gallo has received letters of intent but is not yet signing members. Gallo is a former publisher in the pro audio business and former board director of Mackie Designs.
