Global Security Systems says Alert FM is in compliance with the recent FCC Report and Order requiring EAS participants to accept messages using the open, non-proprietary Common Alerting Protocol.
Alert FM is an FM-based digital alert and messaging system.
EVP Matthew Straeb says the decision to require EAS participants to accept CAP messages “will help ensure that a greater array of warning channels is available to government authorities and first responders, providing a better chance to deliver more effective, consistent and timely warnings to the general public.”
“CAP helps speed transition to the next generation of systems, like Alert FM, while maintaining compatibility with existing warning systems, such as the current EAS and NOAA Weather Radio,” he added.
