From our Who's Buying What page

From Radio World’s Who’s Buying What page:

Global Security Systems says more customers are using its Alert Studio message origination portal for Integrated Public Alert and Warning System dissemination.

Noting that a modernized version of IPAWS was released by the Federal Emergency Management Agency in 2012, GSS Vice President Matthew Straeb stated in an announcement that “We are in the process of implementing Alert Studio for IPAWS dissemination in an additional 22 counties across the South.”

GSS said about a quarter of its current customer base is using Alert Studio to issue IPAWS alerts and warnings. “This includes state, parish, county and city agencies who have issued Amber Alerts, traffic warnings, road closures or other critical information to the public via the IPAWS contact paths.” Accounts Executive Michelle Thiac told Radio World that with the additional 22 counties, GSS will have about 70 customers using Alert Studio for IPAWS.

Users include Warren County, Ohio, and the Louisiana Governor’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness.

Global Security Systems is a systems integrator, service provider and manufacturer of the Alert FM, Alert Studio and GSSNet, a satellite data delivery system for emergency alerts is in operation on some 500 radio stations.
