Harris Creates Global Sales Team

Appoints president, regional sales executives

Pablo Gargiulo

New Harris Broadcast CEO Charlie Vogt is making some changes to the sales structure at the broadcast transmission manufacturer and vendor.

Newcomer Pablo Gargiulo is now president of Global Sales and reports to Vogt. Global Sales is a new group, and its work spans 140 countries and 3,000 customers, according to the company.

The new group is organized into four regions and sales executives have been hired to lead each area: North America/Chris Ziemer; Central/Latin America/Nahuel Villegas; Europe, the Middle East and Africa/ Mathias Eckert and South Asia/North Asia/Joe Khodeir and JiShun Mei.

The new team will offer customers “more comprehensive and deep sales leadership and operations” for each region and support the company’s go-to-market strategies of its four product family pillars of media, networking, playout and transmission, according to the company.

Vogt calls Gargiulo a “proven leader who has supported industry transformation in parallel industries,” which include empowering and integrating global sales forces acquired through multiple acquisitions. Noting that Harris customers face major industry and technology transitions like the impact of on-demand content or the transition to audio over IP, Gargiulo will “improve customer intimacy across our global regions and accelerate development of growth opportunities in each,” says Vogt.

Gargiulo has an international sales and management background. He comes to Harris from global optical transport company Xtera Communications, where he was chief operating officer and executive vice president. From 2007 to 2012, Gargiulo held several strategic roles at Genband, including president of Global Sales and executive vice president of operations.

Genband makes IP multimedia application software and infrastructure products for fixed wire line, mobile and cable network service providers. Charlie Vogt joined the company as president and chief executive officer in 2004 and remained there nine years before joining Harris this July.

Gargiulo joined Genband from Tekelec, where he was vice president of Customer Operations. Prior to Tekelec, he held leadership positions with Taqua, KTI and Kao Infosystems.

Gargiulo said he’s thrilled to join Harris and team with Vogt again.
