As first reported in Radio World (May 10, page 1), Harris Corporation has made a minority investment – a stock purchase – in USA Digital Radio, one of two companies developing in-band, on-channel digital audio broadcasting technology.
“USADR underscores our belief that IBOC is a credible, viable and proven technology,” said Jim Woods, vice president of radio systems of Harris’ Broadcast Communications Division.
Harris and 15 of the largest radio groups have invested in USADR.
Harris is testing is Platinum Z series transmitters with both USADR and Lucent Digital Radio.
