In making the announcement, the company cited “tremendous sales and product growth” in broadcast since the business unit was created under the division umbrella a year ago. The company separately last week confirmed that it plans staff reductions here and in Europe.
In the latest announcement, Tom Jones was promoted to director of radio engineering. He was director of radio transmission products. He will responsible for new product development, cost reduction and engineering use across the business unit.
Jones will oversee a staff that includes David Sparano, who returns to Harris as project engineer for product optimization. He will focus on incorporation of customer feedback into product design, improved supply chain management, more efficient manufacturing methods and shorter processing times.
Jones’ organization includes Ted Staros, director of radio engineering for consoles; Jeff Malec, senior manager, radio engineering for transmission; and Kim Rosevold, supervisor, radio sustaining and support.
The business unit’s systems and consoles business also see changes with the promotion of J.T. Barclay to product line director, radio systems and consoles. Barclay will also oversee the team led by Scott Russell, systems engineering supervisor.
