Harris Order Is Part of Digital Move in China

Beijing Radio awarded the business to Harris for four digital transmitters for a DMB, or Digital Mobile Broadcasting, application. The supplier said this order is part of China’s accelerated move to digital prior to the 2008 Summer Olympics.
“Beijing Radio began a 3G digital audio trial broadcast in April with a view to targeting mobile phones as the listening device of choice for new programs,” Harris stated.
“Following the successful trial, Beijing Radio purchased four 900W Harris DAB 660 transmitters for the launch of six digital broadcasting programs, including moving images, during the latter half of 2005.”
