Confirming a commitment to the environment and worker well being, Harris Corp. has extended internationally accepted registration of its working practices.
The communications and information technology company added ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 registrations to the already accredited ISO 9001 registration at its Broadcast Communications facilities in Quincy, Illinois.
The ISO 14001 standard specifies the requirements for an environmental management system and certifies that ISO 14001-registered companies have implemented a framework to address pollution and environmental concerns, and comply with all relevant laws and regulations.
OHSAS 18001 is the assessment specification for occupational health and safety management systems. Registration certifies that a company has a system in place to identify and control health and safety risks, reduce potential for accidents and ensure legislative compliance.
