Harris is promoting new DRM transmission products along with digital studio consoles during a broadcast convention in China this month.
Harris has demoed DRM transmission capability in China, Australia, Romania, the United Kingdom, Vietnam, Thailand, Taiwan, Mexico, Spain, and at the recent NAB2005 show in Las Vegas.
At BIRTV, Harris is showing a DRM upgrade kit that allows DX and DAX Series AM transmitters to be upgraded for DRM operation.
The kit features a modulator and content server. The content server encodes audio and combines it with digital program information into one bandwidth-efficient, digital bitstream that is sent to the transmitter, says the supplier. The DRM modulator sits in a rack and accepts the digitally prepared signal and feeds it to the transmitter.
Harris also will introduce its new DRM modulator and content server at IBC in September.
