Harris Corp. has declared a quarterly dividend of 8 cents per share, compared to the previous dividend of 5 cents. The new rate on common stock is payable Sept. 20 to shareholders of record Sept. 6. Chairman Phil Farmer said the company reported “solid progress” in its financial performance for fiscal 2002.
“Our government-related businesses have been winning contracts at an unprecedented rate, with major contract wins over the past 12 months totaling more than $5 billion. We expect continued improvement in financial performance for the company in fiscal 2003.” The increase in the cash dividend brings the annual rate to 32 cents per share. The company includes the broadcast business unit, and is traded on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol HRS.
