Harris Wins CHUM Order

Harris Wins CHUM Order

From the RW Who’s Buying What page:
Harris said it sold two Z-Series solid-state analog FM transmitters to Central Ontario Broadcasting, owner of two stations in Barrie, Ontario, Canada; the new models will replace tube transmitters.
The sale was arranged through CHUM Radio, which is helping the two FMs, CFJB and CKMB, with relocation to CHUM’s 1,000-foot tower and with a new antenna system for improved coverage and power efficiency.
“Central Ontario Broadcasting will build a new combined transmitter facility for both stations and install a Harris Z15FM transmitter for CFJB and a Z10FM transmitter for CKMB,” the supplier said. “Both transmitters are expected to go on the air by mid-August, prior to Canada’s autumn BBM ratings period.”
This is CHUM Radio’s third order for Harris transmitters since 2003. David Haydu is DOE for CHUM Radio. RVA Canada Ltd., as a sales representative for Harris, was the purchasing agent for CHUM Radio.
