Hartle ‘Jumps’ at New Company; Snags Entercom Deal

Radio data pioneer Allen Hartle has formed a new company, Jump2Go Inc.

Radio data pioneer Allen Hartle has formed a new company, Jump2Go Inc.

The interactive data services company will focus on enhancing the datacasting ability of stations. Hartle continues in his role at Broadcast Electronics as director of development for broadcast data services.

Entercom is the initial customer to roll out Jump2Go Interactive Radio services, and will do so at 100 stations. Jump2Go projects also include stations from CBS, Cumulus and ABC.

The Jump products complement Hartle’s The Radio Experience system architecture. Software that allows a station to synchronize PAD text with audio across multiple platforms is Jump’s first product.

“Jump2Go’s Interactive Radio Services will enable radio stations to extend their station ‘Brand’ and content across RDS, HD Radio, Web and mobile environments,” Hartle said.

He will serve as chief technology officer and is on the board.
