HD Alliance Endorses Beasley Miami HD2 Formats

The HD Digital Radio Alliance endorsed Beasley Broadcast Group’s HD2 programming in Miami. Since last summer, Beasley has been airing new programming at “Kiss Country 99.9’s” (WKIS-FM) sister country music station, Gretchen 99.9-HD2 and at “Power 96’s” (WPOW-FM) sister station, 96.5 – HD2, as we’ve previously reported.
Beasley President/COO, Bruce Beasley said the company has converted nearly half of its 41 stations to HD Radio and plans to have about 70% of its stations converted by year-end. Beasley is multicasting supplemental channels at five stations in three markets.
Beasley says it was the first to broadcast a public HD Radio multicast demonstration on a commercial FM station and was first to broadcast an HD Radio signal and introduce multicast channels in both Miami and Philadelphia.
