In the halls at CES last week, HD Digital Radio Alliance President/CEO Peter Ferrara told RW Online his meetings with receiver manufacturers, automakers and CE retailers were positive, and that these groups are excited about the alliance.
The majority of the groups, he said, were aware of the alliance and able to delve into more detail about its plans and what radio groups can do together in regards to the promotion of HD Radio.
Over the next two weeks, alliance members will make decisions about formats for multicast stations in the first selected 25 cities; that includes most of the top 25 markets, but not all of them, he said. The alliance hopes to reveal details by the end of the month.
