Visitors to the Los Angeles Auto Show are getting a listen to HD Radio.
Promotions, mobile billboards and street teams circulating the Los Angeles Convention Center are part of efforts to expose convention-goers to the new radios. NAB is supporting the promotion.
The HD Radio street team, wearing bright orange gear, will hand out HD-R lanyards and VIP cards over two weekends outside the convention center. Card-holders can register online to win I-Sonic Entertainment System 2 radios.
The radio includes an iPod dock and allows listeners to buy songs heard on HD Radio broadcasts using Apple iTunes tagging technology. The rules of the contest are posted at www.hdradio.com.
Inside the convention center, attendees can hear HD Radio in exhibits from BMW, Ford and Mini.
The auto show runs to Nov. 25.
