iM Media Labs announced a tech partnership this month with MassiveMusic to provide music infrastructure for curated channels on its “vehicle-native” iM Media Hub platform.
The platform brings content from multiple providers together with curated channels into a system that includes radio, streaming, podcasts, news, sports, audiobooks and video.
iM’s pitch to carmakers is that it is “designed to integrate with vehicle systems and adapt to each automaker’s brand, interface and business model, giving drivers broad media choice without reducing the experience to disconnected apps or a mirrored phone UI.”
Earlier this year iM and AT&T announced a collaboration combining iM Media Hub with AT&T connectivity for automakers. More recently, iM announced a partnership with Stingray to integrate TuneIn, adding 100,000 radio stations, live sports, news, music and podcasts to the Media Hub.
This month’s agreement with MassiveMusic adds API-based music delivery, metadata and reporting capabilities to support iM’s curated programming.
The announcement was made by Jim Cady, founder and CEO of iM Media Labs, and James Priestley, SVP of global sales, licensing and technology for MassiveMusic, which is part of Songtradr.
