Ted Hand will serve a second term as president of the Society of Broadcast Engineers.
SBE on Thursday announced the results of its elections to the national board of directors.
Hand is a member of Chapter 45 Charlotte in North Carolina and an SBE Fellow member. His second term will begin Sept. 11.
“I want to continue the work we have started with adding a new entry-level SBE certification, completing and publishing the additional SBE Station Self-Inspection Guides, and enhancing the SBE’s international presence, including efforts in Australia,” he said in the announcement.
Hand has been a society member since 1981 and is a former VP, secretary and treasurer. He also has served on the board in multiple stints.
Kevin Trueblood was reelected as vice president. Geary Morrill, currently secretary, will be the new treasurer, succeeding Jason Ornellas. Shane Toven has been elected to his first term as SBE secretary.
Elected to serve two-year terms on the board are David Antoine, Greg Dahl, Dustin Hapli, Jeff Juniet, Sam Wallington and Fred Willard. Antoine, Dahl and Willard were incumbents and were re-elected.
Six other directors have another year remaining in their terms. Andrea Cummis continues to serve as immediate past president.
The organization has about 3,800 members. The SBE National Meeting, at which the newly elected will be sworn in, will be held in conjunction with the Midwest Regional Broadcasters Clinic in Middleton, Wis., next month.
