HHB has debuted a cardioid version of its FlashMic omni-directional portable recording microphone.

HHB has debuted a cardioid version of its FlashMic omni-directional portable recording microphone.

The FlashMic DRM85-C shares the same feature set as the original, which includes 1 GB flash memory for 18 or so hours recording, USB audio data transfer, a preamplifier with full manual or automatic gain control and an illuminated LCD display.

Nine user templates are included, which can be configured externally using the supplied FlashMic Manager software.

The company says broadcast users had been requesting a more directional FlashMic specifically for use in environments with high ambient sound levels like press scrums and conflict zones.
