Drew Hilles and Torsten Schulz are the latest additions to Jelli, the social music service, according to an announcement.
Hilles, the new chief operation officer, most recently was a senior sales director for Google. According to a release, while at Google he had experience with YouTube and Google’s radio advertising efforts. Before that he worked in radio as a senior vice president at Clear Channel and Infinity Broadcasting.
Shulz is the new vice president of engineering. He came to Jelli at the end of 2011 from Yahoo, where he spent much of his time on Web and mobile media technology.
CEO Michael Dougherty said of the hires: “Drew and Torsten have deep experience with radio and Web innovation at significant scale, and they will help us accelerate the development and adoption of our social radio platform.”
Jelli is an app that organizes listeners and allows them to control playlists, even those of commercial radio stations. It is available on via the Web along with iPhone and Android app interfaces.
