Himalaya (Power) Electronics has officially launched a DRM/DAB-capable receiver.
Having previously built the Mayah Communications DRM 2010 and the Coding Technologies Digital World Traveller, Himalaya decided to developed its own unit, the Model DRM 2009.
The DRM 2009 is a standalone portable receiver built around a RadioScape multiband module and supports DAB, DRM, AM and FM services. The radio runs either on batteries or via an AC supply.
Thanks to an SD card slot, it is possible to use the DRM 2009 as an MP3 player and for scheduled recordings of DAB/DRM programs.
Internal memory supports play/pause functionality for DAB and DRM transmissions. For DAB transmissions, the receiver also supports electronic program guide (EPG) services.
