Hipcricket Helps Ramar

West Texas station owner goes mobile

Hipcricket has been working with Ramar Communications of Lubbock, Texas on a mobile marketing program for Ramar radio and TV stations in the Lubbock area.

Using a variety of tools in the HIP 7.0 platform, Ramar’s stations, notably KTTU(FM) (better known as “Double T 104.3”), sends its listeners text messages (many sponsored) and also receives text messages from listeners. Weather, sports scores, news, host questions, special guest appearances, special events notification, club messaging, even polling place location are fodder. Sports talker KTTU estimates it receives an average of 8,000 listener messages per week.

Additionally, stations can enhance relationships with advertisers with special messages.

The announcement was made by Ramar Communications Chief Revenue Officer/Radio GM Chris Fleming and Hipcricket CEO Ivan Braiker.
