Sen. “Fritz” Hollings, ranking Democrat on the Senate Commerce Committee, has urged committee chairman John McCain, R-Ariz., to schedule a hearing for media ownership as soon as possible following the Easter recess and invite all five FCC commissioners to testify.
“In light of Chairman Powell’s recent announcement that the FCC will conclude its review of media ownership rules by June 2, it is critical that the committee be permitted to discuss these issues with the commissioners prior to their decision,” stated Hollings in a letter to McCain.
