Hoosier Engineers to Gather in Indianapolis

October event highlights radio and TV technical topics and is open to anyone in the Midwest.

The Indiana Broadcasters Association’s Annual Engineer Workshop is scheduled for Oct. 20 and 21 in Indianapolis.

The event, open to broadcast engineers throughout the Midwest, will feature sessions on the latest broadcast engineering, HD Radio, facility maintenance, FCC compliance and DTV.

Gary Liebiesch from Nautel will participate in the Radio Breakout session. His topic: “Nautel PowerBoost Technology for Increased IBOC FM Power.”

Geoff Mendenhall and Terry Cockerill of Harris will take part in the Radio Seminar; topics and demonstrations will include several on HD Radio.

But not all the focus will be on HD Radio. Dave Davies of ERI will speak on tower maintenance concerns while Jeremy Ruck of D.L. Markley & Associates will discuss signal interference and coverage difficulties in “Reality Engineering II.”

The conference will be held at the Sheraton Indianapolis Hotel and Suites.
