House Commerce Committee Promotes GOP Staffer

David Cavicke, who has served the House Energy and Commerce Committee as Republican general counsel and deputy chief of staff, is now the Republican chief of staff.

David Cavicke, who has served the House Energy and Commerce Committee as Republican general counsel and deputy chief of staff, is now the Republican chief of staff.

Cavicke has been with the committee for 12 years. Prior to becoming general counsel in 2005, Cavicke, 45, was the chief counsel for the Subcommittee on Commerce, Trade and Consumer Protection.

Ranking Committee Republican Rep. Joe Barton of Texas made the announcement.
