The FCC has released details on how submit applications to build low-power FM stations. The commission will accept new station construction permit applications (Form 318) for LP100 stations for the following areas between May 31 to June 5: Alaska, California, District of Columbia, Georgia, Indiana, Louisiana, Maine, Mariana Islands, Maryland, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, and Utah.
Applicants may file Form 318 electronically or via paper. However, the commission encourages applicants to use the electronic filing system to speed up the process.
Electronic filing is available through the FCC’s Consolidated Database System online electronic forms filing system. Users can access this system via the Internet from the Mass Media Bureau’s Web site at:http://www.fcc.gov/mmb

Electronically filed applications must be received by the FCC no later than 11:59 PM Eastern on June 5. Form 318 may be downloaded from the Internet at:

Applications not complying with these requirements or which are incomplete or patently defective will be dismissed or returned.
