I’m learning from readers that so-called “transmitter dogs” come in all sizes.
This is Hugo, a Bichon Frise, guarding the front door of the KZCL(FM) transmitter site in Logan, Utah.
Lewis Downey, radio engineer for University of Utah station KUER(FM) in Salt Lake City, tells me Hugo generally likes the front seat of the truck, but a chair will also do.
“He’s very patient until it’s time to eat and is very good at telling me when I’ve been at it too long.”
Hugo is about 10 years old. Like most Bichons, he’s willful and certain about what life is about and generally vocal about it, I hear. We like to say “Hugo always tells the truth” says Downey.
Do you have a “transmitter dog?” Write to me about him or her at Lstimson@nbmedia.com. And of course, send pix.
