The Interactive Advertising Bureau Tech Lab for Podcast Measurement Compliance has certified the podcast statistics provided by Blubrry Podcasting, according to a press release from the hosting service provider and a certification report from IAB.
The certification was determined by standards laid out in the 2017 Podcast Measurement Guidelines, and NPR was also certified.
“The audit included reviews of our platform architecture, filtering, file threshold levels, identity, aggregate uniques, metrics generation, website player reviews and recommendations, disclosures and external audit of the code line by line,” said Blubrry Chief Information Officer Angelo Mandato.
Blubrry previously participated in IAB’s Podcast Technical Working Group alongside 31 other media companies to help create the IAB Podcast Measurement Guidelines, including standards for downloads, listens, advertisement delivery/play.
Owned by RawVoice, Blubrry has provided stats for 13 years. Its podcast statistics are platform agnostic, and this information is available as a white label solution for podcast hosting companies and media buyers.
Currently, the company says its Enterprise customers are able to label their podcast statistics as IAB certified and this will apply to Blubrry hosting and redirect users too. Blubrry says no metric changes should be expected, since the certified platform hasn’t changed.
