IBC Sneak Peek: DRM to Host Manufacturer’s Events at IBC

‘Smart Radio for All’ promoted as the key theme

Digital Radio Mondiale is aiming to have a strong presence at this year’s IBC in the form of manufacturer presentations.

On Friday, Sept. 9 from 2–3 p.m., IBC visitors will have the chance meet with DRM specialists at the GatesAir booth (8B80). On Saturday, Sept. 10, visitors can meet the DRM experts at the Thomson Broadcast stand (8C35) at 12:30 and at the Nautel event (8C49) at 3:30. In addition, visitors to IBC on Sunday, Sept. 11 will have the chance to attend a DRM session jointly hosted by Ampegon and Transradio (8D35) at 2 p.m.

DRM Chairman Ruxandra Obreja is promoting DRM: Smart Radio for All as a key theme for IBC, saying, “In our view this means a digital future for all broadcasters large or small, offering more program choice to listeners, extra multimedia services with text and images while delivering great energy savings and spectrum efficiency. We hope that IBC will be the perfect forum to demonstrate once again the benefits of DRM and its compatibility and complementarity with other open standards.”

DRM noted that it has made significant progress over the past year in the receiver and car industries with digital radio software. If you are interested in attending the DRM events please contact, [email protected].
