Ibiquity Develops Receiver Reference Platform

Ibiquity Develops Receiver Reference Platform

Ibiquity Digital plans to introduce a receiver reference design, primarily for aftermarket products, at a consumer electronics show in Hong Kong this week.
Mike Lyons said the company hopes the new component will be used by receiver manufacturers and enable them to cut costs for making HD Radios and get products to market faster.
Lyons spoke at a panel on digital radio at the Audio Engineering Society convention in New York.
CEA’s Dave Wilson said his organization is working on a system to make auto aftermarket product installations easier for dealers and retailers; adoption of this network protocol would, hopefully, help place digital radio into cars faster.
