IBiquity Digital has issued a tech bulletin (PDF) on implementing Program Service Data. The bulletin lists best practices for stations to follow when setting up their dynamic or static HD Radio receiver information displays.
The idea is to help consumers have a good experience with iTunes Tagging using their HD Radios; iBiquity says using this setup eliminates “false” tags.
Hopefully it eliminates the insider shorthand some stations are leaving on their receiver displays while other receivers default to a factory pre-set numerical display if stations don’t change that.
