Ibiquity Digital Corp. has hired Fernando Monetti as manager of broadcast business development for Latin America. Monetti will help manage and develop demand for HD Radio broadcasting in the region.
The company says interest in its digital radio technology is increasing following its preliminary implementation in Brazil, which now boasts 16 HD Radio stations.
Monetti joins Ibiquity from Thales Broadcast & Multimedia, now Thomson Broadcast & Multimedia, where he was responsible for the promotion and sales of the Thales B&M broadcast portfolio.
Previously, he was with FDM Broadcast in Buenos Aires, Argentina, managing broadcast product sales in Argentina and Uruguay. He also worked for Consolidated Media Systems helping create a Latin American dealer network.
