We have an IBOC alliance in the U.S., so does Latin America. Now Europe has one.
Several sources confirmed to me the group was formed last week at IBC in Amsterdam.
Made up of some 15 broadcasters, a mix of statewide private networks and private broadcasters, the organization aims to help governments and broadcast groups understand the technology.
Sounds like IBOC proponents are making progress in Europe. Test beds have been established in several countries. IBOC gives countries that don’t have new spectrum to set aside for digital radio another option.
