IDC Sets Sights on Storm, CDS

Ottawa-based broadband satellite datacasting company, International Datacasting Corp., plans to acquire two companies in a stock and cash deal worth approximately (U.S.) $2,719,608.
The two companies, also based in Ottawa, are Storm Internet Services. They operate broadband wireless Internet networks and CDS/Prometheus, a designer and installer of wireless network products, firewalls, LANs and WANs.
Their products will help IDC pursue hybrid broadband “last mile” opportunities.
IDC President/CEO Ron Clifton said the acquisition will also strengthen its local base of operations for systems integration and service, and provide product lines for international customers.
