Senior telecommunications industry executive Kevin Rankin has filled a vacancy on the International Datacasting Corp. (IDC) board of directors.
Ron Clifton, president and chief executive of IDC, made the announcement.
A chemical engineering and management graduate, Rankin is president of the Stoney Group and serves as an advisory board member for the Ontario Centre of Excellence for Photonics, for privately held Ashton Electronic Systems and for The Bridge Wesleyan Church in Kanata, Ontario.
He has held senior management positions with companies including Nortel and Newbridge Networks. Rankin was also a founder of Tropic Networks Inc. and was chief executive from its inception in 2000 to the sale of the company to Alcatel-Lucent in 2007.
