IEEE BTS and AFCCE Create Scholarship Fund

Scholarship fund from broadcast associations goes up to $10k

The IEEE Broadcast Technology Society and the Association of Federal Communications Consulting Engineers are coming together to form a scholarship fund for prospective broadcast engineers who are currently either getting a undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited U.S. university.

The scholarship fund is named the Jules Cohen Memorial Scholarship to honor the late Jules Cohen, a past president of AFCCE as well as an IEEE Fellow and BTS member.

The Jules Cohen Memorial Scholarship will be awarded up to twice a year in line with the current spring or fall semester and will start in the spring of 2017. Scholarships will be either $5,000 or $10,000 and will be based off of a student’s qualifications and financial need. The applicant must be enrolled in engineering and have a good academic record.

Interested applicants for the first scholarship awarding should submit their applications starting this Sept. 1– Oct. 31. For more information visit the AFCCE Scholarships website.
