Digital radio is among the topics for the 57th Annual IEEE Broadcast Symposium.

The symposium will be at the Hotel Washington in Washington, D.C., 31 October–2 November, and features a session, "Broadcast Digital Radio Transmission," with Bob Surette of Shively Labs serving as chair.

Presenters include Gao Peng of the Radio Institute at the Academy of Broadcasting Science of SARFT in China, on a field test and analyze method for estimating and verifying DAB signal coverage; Iván Peña of the UPV/EHU in Spain, discussing analysis of the ITU-R P.1546-2 prediction method accuracy for DRM local coverage using the 26 MHz band; Valentino Trainotti of the Universidad de Buenos Aires, on the accurate elevation of magnetic and electric field losses in ground systems; and John Kean and Ellyn G. Sheffield of National Public Radio (NPR), speaking about HD Radio coverage modelization and perceptual tests of low bit rate coders, respectively.

The Broadcast Digital Radio Transmission session takes place on Friday, 2 November. The advance registration deadline is 15 October.
