HD Radio developer iBiquity Digital has been making efforts to showcase the programming available on some U.S. HD2 and HD3 channels. As part of that effort, it will partner this week with iHeart brand Pride Radio in a networked broadcast from Switzerland’s International Radio Festival Zürich.
IBiquity SVP Joe D’Angelo said in an announcement that its partnerships with iHeartRadio and Pride Radio “help give HD Radio owners a free, high-quality network of alternative programming across every local market in the U.S.” The companies said shows hosted by air personality Houston will simulcast across HD2 channels in 15 markets including New York, Los Angeles, Dallas, San Francisco and Washington as well as on iHeartRadio online.
Pride Radio is iHeartRadio’s brand for the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community. The International Radio Festival Zürich runs Aug. 26–30.
Pride Radio is carried on HD2 or HD3 channels in New York, Los Angeles, Dallas, San Francisco, Washington, Minneapolis/St. Paul, Las Vegas, San Diego, Atlanta, Hartford, Ft. Lauderdale and San Antonio.
