iHeart Names Several Programmers

Changes are afoot in New York, New Orleans and Hampton Roads

iHeartMedia New York says Cara Hahn has been promoted to assistant program director/music director for WHTZ(FM) and WLTW(FM). Also, Ashley Wilson has been named program director for WNOE(FM) in New Orleans, and Brett Ballard has been named program director and afternoon drive host for WNOH(FM) in Hampton Roads, Va.

Hahn will be responsible for assisting with the day-to-day programming operations for both stations working closely with on-air personalities and sales to oversee the station’s on-air content, digital footprint and music programming. She will report to Program Directors Chris Conley and Mark Medina.

Hahn joined iHeartMedia New York in 2014 where she most recently served as programming coordinator for the market.

iHeartMedia New York owns and operates WHTZ, WKTU(FM), WAXQ(FM), WWPR(FM), WLTW and WOR(AM).

As PD, Ashley Wilson will be responsible for the day-to-day programming operations for 101.1 WNOE. She will work closely with on-air personalities and sales to oversee the station’s on-air content, digital footprint and music programming. In addition, Wilson will serve as the station’s PM drive host. She will report to iHeartMedia New Orleans Senior Vice President of Programming Angela Watson.

Wilson joins iHeartMedia New Orleans from Renda Broadcasting’s country station WGNE(FM) in Jacksonville, Fla., where she served as the station’s assistant PD and midday on-air personality. Her background also includes stints as business development specialist, music director, traffic director and station manager positions for stations in North Carolina, where she began her career at WMMY(FM).

iHeartMedia New Orleans owns and operates WNOE, WRNO(FM), WRNO(HD2), WYLD(FM), WYLD(AM), WQUE(FM), WODT(AM) and KVDU(FM).

As PD, Brett Ballard will be responsible for WNOH’s day-to-day music programming and for all of the station’s imaging and branding, as well as hosting the afternoon drive show. He will report to iHeartMedia Norfolk Senior Vice President of Programming Tias Schuster.

Ballard joins the Norfolk Market from WTKX(FM) in Mobile, Ala., where he most recently served as the program director. He also programmed WRKH in Mobile, Alabama and WFFX in Hattiesburg, Miss., for iHeartMedia. He began his career in Tampa Bay at WXTB.

iHeartMedia Norfolk owns and operates WOWI(FM), WMOV(FM), WNOH and WHBT(FM).
