IHeart Names SVP of Political Sales and Strategy

Gandhi joins the “Matty in the Morning” show as executive producer

Kenny Day will join iHeartMedia as its senior vice president of political sales and strategy, and the Boston cluster’s WXKS(FM) announced that Medha Gandhi will be the new executive producer of the “Matty in the Morning Show,” weekdays from 6–10 a.m.

Day will building a Washington-based team focused on working with political and issue advertisers as well as advertising agencies to create strategies, campaigns and content. In addition, the political and advocacy sales team will utilize iHeartMedia’s new programmatic and automated ad buying platform. He will report to President of National Sales Jeff Howard.

He has 20 years of experience in the publishing and policy industries. He joins iHeartMedia from Yahoo-owned BrightRoll, where he was director of Platform Solutions, where he was responsible for introducing the brand to the Washington market, building new offerings and establishing new partnerships. Prior to BrightRoll, Day served as digital campaign adviser for online advertising company Conversant Inc., where he established their Washington office and drove revenue from more than 50 political campaigns and issue groups in the 2012 election cycle. His background also includes positions at Politico, which he helped launch, Roll Call and Bloomberg Government.

Medha joins the “Matty in the Morning Show” from WNCI(FM) in Columbus, Ohio, where she has served as executive producer of the “Dave and Jimmy” show and their syndication network for the past eight years. She is a comedy writer, parody song producer and voice talent. Medha is the great-great-granddaughter of Mohandas Karamchand “Mahatma” Gandhi and is involved with charitable organizations, such as the Muscular Dystrophy Association and The Alzheimer’s Association.
