iHeartMedia Partners With NBC News on NBC News Radio

Dellinger named PD for Gator in Myrtle Beach

iHeartMedia’s 24/7 News Network has announced that it will provide its radio stations and affiliates with access to NBC News broadcast coverage, along with an hourly newscast provided to its network. iHeartRadio will also feature a NBC News Radio station online and on its app.

With bureaus and staff correspondents throughout the United States, 24/7 News Network produces content solely for radio with anchored news, sports and weather reports serving more than 1,000 broadcast radio stations as well as digital radio affiliates via the iHeartRadio platform.

And with this partnership, NBC News expands its reach into the world of radio.

In additional iHeartMedia news, Myrtle Beach, S.C.’s WGTR(FM) has named Adam Dellinger program director. He will also continue as co-host for “The Gator Morning Show with James and Adam.”

Previously Dellinger co-hosted morning shows at WTQR(FM) in Greensboro, N.C. and KCYY(FM) in San Antonio. He most recently served as the interim program director for Gator 107.9 since 2015.

“Adam has more than a year of experience in programming Gator 107.9 and now we’re thrilled to have him program the station full time,” said Market President Jimmy Feuger.

iHeartMedia Myrtle Beach owns and operates WLQB(FM), WWXM(FM), WYNA(FM), WRXZ(FM) and WGTR.

In another expansion, the iHeartRadio app is now available on Samsung’s swanky Gear 2 smartwatch, according to an announcement on the iHeart blog. The smartwatch will act as a remote control for the iHeartRadio app, available on Android mobile devices — with a rotation of the Samsung Gear S2 bezel, iHeartRadio users can now access live radio, custom radio and podcast content through their smartwatch.
