IHeartMedia Renews Talker

Norfolk station gets new morning host; Hattiesburg new PD

IHeartMedia announced that talk radio host Michael Berry has signed a long-term renewal, and the Norfolk cluster has named Chuck Doud as the new host of WMOV(FM)’s morning show. The company’s Laurel/Hattiesburg, Miss., market also chose Devin Cole as urban program director of WJKX(FM) and WZLD(FM).

Berry, whose show originates at KTRH(AM) in Houston and can be heard in 13 iHeartMedia markets around the country, began in radio in 2005 with iHeartRadio’s predecessor, Clear Channel. This new agreement continues Berry’s partnership with through 2020.

Doud joins the iHeartMedia Norfolk team from Entercom’s WPTE(FM), where he hosted a morning show for more than 12 years. Prior to moving to southeast Virginia, Doud held positions in Los Angeles, New York and Philadelphia.

IHeartMedia Norfolk owns and operates WOWI(FM); WHBT(FM); WNOH(FM); and WMOV(FM).

In Mississippi, as program director, Cole will lead the programming and on-air teams at WJKX(FM) and WZLD(FM).

Cole is an Amory, Miss., native and most recently served as assistant program director for WZLD and on-air talent for WJKX. Cole will report to Jackson Walker, senior vice president of programming for iHeartMedia Laurel/Hattiesburg.

IHeartMedia Laurel/Hattiesburg, Miss., also includes broadcast and digital brands and franchises, such as WNSL(FM), WFFX(FM) and WFOR(AM).
