iHeartMedia Selects Marcano for VP Slot

San Francisco and Washington clusters get new general sales managers

IHeartMedia has tapped Hector Marcano to serve as vice president of Hispanic Operations East. The company also appointed two new general sales managers: Todd Freundlich has been named GSM for Washington and Suzy Rufail will fill the position for the San Francisco market.

Marcano was also named general manager of WRUM(FM) in Orlando, Fla., and will continue to report to Market President Linda Byrd. He has more than 30 years of experience in the media industry and as vice president of Hispanic Operations East, Marcano will work with iHeartMedia’s Hispanic radio stations, with a special focus in the Miami, Chicago, Orlando and Atlanta markets. He will lead the sales efforts with top prospects and develop custom strategies and campaigns, a release said.

Freundlich has worked in sales in the Washington market for two decades with experience in both sports and radio sales. He spent the past five years as the GSM at Cumulus Media Washington’s WMAL(AM/FM).

Rufail has more than 16 years of experience in the advertising and media industries. She will join iHeartMedia San Francisco from American General Media, where she served as a market manager and director of sales since January 2012. Rufail has held a number of positions within the industry including roles at Ramar Communications, Cox Radio and Univision Radio.

IHeartMedia Washington/Baltimore owns and operates WASH(FM), WBIG(FM), WITH(FM), WMZQ(FM), WWDC(FM), WCAO(AM), WPOC(FM), WQSR(FM) and WZFT(FM).

IHeartMedia San Francisco operates KIOI(FM), KISQ(FM), KKSF(AM), KMEL(FM), KNEW(AM), KOSF(FM), KYLD(FM).
