After weeks of rumors, it’s official. Citadel Broadcasting Corp. and WABC(AM) in New York confirmed Don Imus has been hired as the station’s new morning host.

His first day will be Monday, Dec. 3. Imus is bringing his team to WABC, including news anchor Charles McCord. The show will air 6–10 a.m. and will be syndicated by the ABC Radio Network.

Imus was fired by CBS Radio and MSNBC in April for remarks he made about Rutgers University women’s basketball players.
