Bert Goldman is looking for a broadcast engineer.
For many years, Goldman managed the engineering efforts as corporate vice president of engineering at ABC/Disney, Nationwide Communications, Shamrock Broadcasting, Patterson Broadcasting and Independence Media; since 2009 he’s been senior vice president of engineering at Independence Broadcast Services, a Dallas-based broadcast engineering and construction company.
The fellow University of Maryland graduate tells me that Independence moved the operations of Sporting News Radio from Los Angeles to Houston last week. So he’s looking for an engineer to handle network operations for Sporting News Radio who also has AM experience to help with a co-owned radio facility.
The ideal candidate would have experience in ISDN equipment, broadcast automation systems and digital audio routing systems.
Goldman’s partner, David Jacobs, is president and chief executive officer. The former investment banker founded Independence Media Holdings to pursue radio station engineering upgrades and accommodations within a station group. He also established a broadcast construction business within Independence Media. In February 2009, Jacobs led the spin-out of the engineering and construction personnel from Independence Media, which formed the basis of Independence Broadcast Services.
