Industry Players Meet in Amsterdam

More than 1,300 exhibitors and 60 conference sessions at this year’s event

The largest multimedia event in Europe — IBC2012 — is set to get underway here Sept. 6–11.

The technical exhibition runs Sept. 7–11, and the conferences and workshops start a day earlier. The 2011 edition attracted some 50,000 visitors from 160 countries.

This year approximately 1,300 manufacturers will showcase their latest innovations, while approximately 60 conference sessions cover important industry issues. The conference program, which combines tutorials, presentations, panels and workshops, is organized by themes: “Advances in Technology, Industry Insights,” “Content Creation and Innovation” and “The Business of Broadcast and Media.”

The exhibition space is made up of areas comprising the Future Zone, dedicated to the latest developments and tomorrow’s technology; IBC Connected World, with a focus on connectivity and the IBC Production Village.

IBC also hands out a number of awards during the annual event. These include the International Honour for Excellence, the Innovation Awards, the Best Conference Paper Award and the Exhibition Design Award.
