Infinity Broadcasting’s 185 Stations will participate in a massive one-day voter registration drive on Tuesday, Sept. 14. The campaign is called. “Infinity Registers America – Your Voice Counts.” As part of the campaign, Infinity employees will encourage citizens to register for the upcoming presidential election through a series of public service announcements and events in cities across the country.
Some of the events are:
WBBM(AM), Chicago is partnering with the Chicago Board of Elections and the 2004 Chicago Voter Awareness Campaign. From 9 a.m.-5 p.m., the station will stage an event from Chicago City Hall/County Building where listeners can register, learn how to use a voting machine, watch demonstrations of the punch card voting system and have their questions answered by city officials;
WNCX(FM) in Cleveland is conducting “Rock ‘n Register at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. The station will host a remote during the day from inside the museum and will distribute information and voter registration forms to visitors;
Boston’s WBCN(FM) and WZLX(FM) will register listeners at Fenway Park during the Red Sox-Tampa Bay game and;
Representatives from Infinity Portland’s KUFO(FM) are scheduled to visit area college campuses in an effort to register students.
