A division of OMT Inc. said it has signed a sound recording reproduction licensing agreement with the Audio-Video Licensing Agency Inc.
OMT is known to radio stations for its iMediaTouch line and related broadcast products. But its Intertain Media division said the deal with AVLA is for its RetailPreview in-store CD, DVD and Video Game previewing system. The company called it the first product of its type licensed in Canada.
“This is an important step for Intertain as it gives us the required content licensing for all of the major record companies and many independent record labels in Canada to grow our RetailPreview service,” stated VP of Business Development Scott Farr. Intertain has 300 systems installed in Best Buy and Future Shop Locations in Canada.
AVLA administers licensing in Canada for the owners and exclusive holders of copyright in audio and music video recordings.
